Spokane NAACP White or Black--Who Cares?

Shades of Elizabeth Warren claiming to be of Native American descent

A way to get on the affirmative action bus and preference for fed dollars spent?

Now another scandal this time out of Spokane and a leader of the NAACP

At first blush this seems like a tempest in a pot of tea

The head of the Spokane chapter is Rachel Dosezal who claims to be black

Such a claim now refuted by her white parents and brother who know that race she lacks

Maybe Rachel was overburdened with a sense of white guilt and wanted to somehow atone

With Afro hair style, tanning, and maybe speech patterns leave the Caucasian zone

Lost in all this furor that may touch the chapter is a very, very simple fact

When the NAACP was founded a majority of its founders were not black

Skin color is not a badge one needs to have to wear

To attack injustice on one’s fellows that is not right or remotely fair

Unless Rachel used false claims of race to milk the affirmative action spigot

Those stirring the pot look like idiots and may even border on being labeled a bigot

When it comes to discrimination based not on character but the color of one’s skin

All of different color who do not rise up in protest lose and humanity does not win.
