For the first time in its history an incumbent peacefully bowed out
Africa’s largest economy suffering under Boko Haram jihadist attack
Elected a general and bullets were not needed by Buhari to take the office back
Democracy and the peaceful non corrupt transition of power rests on such a slender reed
Too often force not ballots is the only rule an incumbent will heed
With the price of oil in free fall and corruption in oil the Nigerian norm
Buhari will have his hands full trying to an economy reform
Having Boko Haram in a mini-civil war will not make this an easy deal
We can only hope that the good general continues on his democratic zeal
That the U.S. will continue to provide training and aid help them to take the fight to the jihadist lair
That the Nigerians will resoundingly the pitch of Boko Haram foreswear
