Britain Leaves the EU

There may always be an England but today not in the confines of the EU

Britain voted to leave and other countries may also drop their respective other shoe

Nationalism can run very deep

Control over one’s borders and laws a proud county will want to keep

Unelected bureaucrats in Brussels above any sense of voters’ laws

In Britain exposed the EU’s fatal flaw

Open borders with a flood of Islamists with havoc and Sharia seeking to impose

A time to a proud nation to rise again and its borders control if not close

We pulled the idea of a union off as a union of colonies and then states

But nations with separate languages, histories and customs and past wars face a different fate

This poet has long since given up on reactions to change to predict

 Only that in the short term financial chaos in the markets will on us all inflict

But the EU without England will move forward as will England without the EU

But Brussels bureaucrats removed from the people will suffer when as to the people’s will they are without a clue
