The
Golden State has been in a prolonged drought
A
lack of rain and acres burned by wildfire continuing to mount
More
and more a state of brown as plants wither and cling barely to life
Rationing
of water and higher prices adding to our daily strife
Parched
lands, forests and farmers looking to El Nino as the second coming of an
Aquatic Christ
Especially
those growing almonds or worse growing rice
The
now Brown State is the bread basket for many of the nation’s crops
Without
an end to the drought this misery will grow and not stop
Conservation
and dying lawns will help the lack of water
but will not solve
The
increase in wildfires burnt homes and crop losses can only into chaos devolve
With
the ground rock hard and moisture unable to retain
Mother
Nature in the LA Basin dumped on us a ton of rain
Not
to trickle down and the water table restore
But
a sea of mud with Noah like lore
Blocking
freeways and highway in a gooey lethal mess
While
the end of the drought it did not address
Only
a warning that in later months El Nino may be boring down us like an out of
control freight train
Bringing
increasing amounts of torrential almost monsoon like rain
