November 16, 2020 Ridley's Believe it or Not International Day For Tolerance

Ridley's Believe It Or Not November 16, 2020
CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues with 591,472 new cases (a 1.08%  increase compared to a 1.01% increase yesterday) to bring the total over  55 million to 55,258,264, 15,576,685 of  which  are active, 39,681,579 of which have been closed with 38,351,079  recoveries (96.65% compared to  yesterday’s 96.65%) and 1,330,500 deaths (3.36% compared to yesterday’s 3.36%) to continue the trend of increased recovery percentages and the trend of increased recovery percentages.

CV USA Cases: New cases of 356,632 with total cases over 11 million at 11,495,835 (a 3.20% increase compared to yesterday’s 1.23%  increase) with 4,266,502 active cases of which 20,817 (.49% of active casesr), recently on a disturbing upward trend with slight blips from a high of 19,155 on July 23  (20,434 yesterday and 15,881 on September 1), are in serious or critical condition as trend has shifted and may be continuing to go up, and 7,229,333 closures, 252,402 of which have been deaths (3.49% compared to yesterday’s 3.52%) and 6,976,931 of which have been recoveries (96.51% compared to yesterday’s 96.48%). Our death rate percentages continue to improve and are finally in single digits since Cuomo repealed on May 10 his order sending CV positive patients to nursing homes and ADL facilities and after many months are only .13% above world rate and on a deaths per million population measurement at 761 ranks behind Belgium (1242), Peru (1063),  Spain (882),Argentina (781) Brazil (779), Chile (775), UK (767 which has now passed us despite leading world in testing) and  Bolivia (754),  and only slightly worse than (Mexico (761), Italy (757), Ecuador (734).  newly added to the list France (690) and Sweden (609) that never closed its economy down like we did and we have now conducted 1,286,572 more tests to bring total to 169,442,762 (now at 506,903/M compared to Russia at 469,840/M so Trump is telling truth that we conduct more tests in number and on a per capital basis for nations (other than those nations that contain small populations like Bahrain, Denmark,  Israel, Singapore and UAE) but for the U.K. which remains off the testing charts with tests at 557,459/M).

Non CV Case News: With millions from the left already starting to pour into Georgia to flip the Senate, it looks like Biden will be leaving his bunker to campaign for the 2 Blues in the runoff to try to flip the Senate; the 4 SpaceX launched on Sunday have successfully docked at the International Space Station; Biden emerged from his bunker to hold a “press“ conference which some have declared more of a “love fest” with the press (watch the ratings and ad revenues go down with no Trump-like combative press conferences to attract viewers); Obama was castigated for leading from behind but a Heritage Foundation Report just released details of how the Obama Administration gutted our military’s readiness to face threats from Russia, China and Iran (God help us if Biden part of that gutting process continues in the same path when he takes over on January 20, 2021); once again listening to CNN’s Brian Stelter would make one run to the “Fake News” shelter as he omitted news of CNN’s Jeffrey Tobin masturbating on Zoom and MSNBC letting Jon Meacham go for not disclosing he was a speech writer for Biden and picked to praise Biden’s victory speech he himself wrote; while Newsom is demanding Californians stay home, a select group of legislators from Texas, Washington and California are off to a 4 day conference at the really expensive Fairmont Kea Lanai in Maui (do as I say not as I do hypocrisy); once again Twitter is caught with its biased algorithms stuck where the sun does not shine as an Antifa group in Portland praises the arson of a police officer’s home; it’s a time honored tradition for state residents facing higher taxes to vote with their feet and move but now Blues seem to be pushing for voter fraud to get people to move to Georgia, declare residency for the sole purpose of voting and then vote which is a felony but sadly what we have come to expect.
Chicago/Baltimore Gun Violence: In Chicago as of November 15,  2020,  the number of shootings increased to 3,752 of whom in a minor miracle no one shot has died in 2 days so only 642 have died (total travesty of BLM when blacks are shot and killed by blacks in droves and only sounds of silence and complete absence of any protests in front of City Hall demanding action to curb the killings and shootings); Baltimore with a fraction of Chicago’s population and hoping against all hopes that 2020 will not be a record in terms of deaths but now seems to be shooting less and killing less and is now 348 behind Chicago at 294 murders (when will Chicago and Baltimore get serious about this carnage or is this the case of true racism as a Blue run city turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to the slaughter of people of color by people of color and when will the left focus on the problem of color on color shootings in Blue run cities which  have  been way  more  deadly and way more numerous than shootings by  police or by random mass shootings which occur far much less.

          1.  International Day for Tolerance—created by UNESCO to promote awareness of the dangers of intolerance and to seek to combat it.

          2.  National Fast Food Day—clueless who created this day but it honors the fast food choice that first appeared here in 1867 with a hot dog stand on Coney Island, New York that has grown to over 247,000 restaurants in the U.S. with over $200 billion in revenue and since relying on drive thru the industry has probably weathered the CV pandemic.

32018 Number One Song— the number 1 song in 2018 on this day on a run of 7 weeks was “Girls Like You” by Maroon 5 feat. Cardi B to join 11 other songs that made the top number 1 list. Here is a recording of the song. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBVGlBWQzuc

 4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “practive” which means practical which is a trait unless it involves seeking campaign contributions most politicians totally lack.

          5. Only Cats or Quasi Felines Have Nine Lives--celebrating the birthday on this day in 1962 of Darwyn Cooke, noted Canadian-American comic artist who created such works as Catwoman, but enjoyed cigarettes and sadly died at the peak of his career from lung cancer on May 14, 2016 at the age of 53.

          On this day in:

          a. 1871 the National Rifle Association, now in the crosshairs of the New York AG, was incorporated in New York.

           b. 1945 UNESCO was founded.

           c. 1973 in a stick it to OPEC moment, President Richard Nixon signed legislation  authorizing construction of the Trans Alaskan Pipeline System that would upon completion in 1977 result in 2 million barrels of oil flowing daily to Valdez for shipment to U.S. refineries.

          d. 1990 in a cheating never pays moment, the pop duo Milli Vanilli was stripped of its Grammy Award for the album Girl You Know It’s True when it was discovered they did not sing a word of the songs that were song by session musicians.

           e.  1992 the Hoxne Hoard, the largest discovery of 4th and 5th Century 14,865 gold, silver and bronze Roman coins was discovered by Eric Lawes near the village of Hoxne, Suffolk, England.

Reflections on the NRA from New York’s current Attorney General: ”The NRA’s influence has been so powerful that the organization went unchecked for decades while top executives funneled millions into their own pockets. The NRA is fraught with fraud and abuse, which is why, today, we seek to dissolve the NRA, because no organization is above the law.” Latitie James at her press conference announcing her suit against the NRA.
