$13 Million to Split For 16 Minutes of Past Pugilistic Glory Tyson and Jones in an 8 Round Draw

As more of us are living longer but trying not to age
60 is the new 40 and 50 the new 30 is the latest rage
Tyson who is 54 and has not been in a ring since 2005
Managed without eating an ear eight rounds to survive
Jones who has not fought since 2018t is a spry 51
And after a draw decision at eight rounds he sounds like his fighting career is not done
Rounds of only two minutes must have helped to keep the gloves up high
Boxing commission that sanctioned fight at Staples must have worried a flurry of punches would mean a fighter died
$13 million purse to be split with Tyson at ten and Jones at three
Not bad for a glimpse of past glory in an eight round punching spree
Wonder if this will be the new trend
Where sports other than golf will allow careers not to end
Will fans pay top dollars to watch athletes past their prime?
Defying the aging process together and trying to delay the effects of Father Time?
Maybe an inducement for past warriors to off the couch arise
To show to past fans their talent has not gone into total demise
Thank God tonight no one came to mortal harm
And the two fighters with large dollars could bask their past feats of arms
