74 Year Old Jumps In to Snatch His Puppy from a Gator's Mouth

 

A dog is a man’s best friend unless it is walking in Florida near a pond
When an alligator appears and with it in its mouth tries to abscond
Then the best friend is 74 year old Wilbanks, a  man
Who jumps into the pond to pry lose the jaws with his bare hands
No hesitation, no tossing his cigar to keep it lit
This 74 year old owner into the water to force the gator to quit
Fortunately for the puppy and Wilbanks this gator was small
He was able to force open the jaws and the gator’s meal to totally stall
Puppy ran free back on to dry land away from the pond
A lesson learned by puppy to stay away from a pond forever dawned
Wilbanks  learned that for gators cigar smoke does not deter
Leash should be used to a dog’s safety insure
Happy ending for both Wilbanks and his puppy Gunner
And for unnamed gator who returned to pond without being removed after hit with a stunner
