Northern California Aflame Due to Lightning

When it comes to possessing arson tools Mother Nature wins the prize
With lightning strikes she can quickly firefighters and communities terrorize
Northern California has been hit with 1000’s of lightning strikes
Many setting off fires that with the wind soon are like racers roaring down the pike
560 fires in Northern California most of which have not been contained
Triple digit temperatures putting firefighters under great strain
This time electric utilities or untended campfires have no part
Mother Nature striking the match to see forests in flames depart
It seems we can never have enough water dropping copters and planes
And certainly cannot look to the myth of dancers who could bring us rains
each year more fires upon our forests and shrub covered hills descend
Is Mother Nature warning us that wildfires will be an increasing trend?
We can clear vegetation around homes, use only fire retardant materials in construction
Helpful but unlikely to avoid all raging wildfire destruction
Can we create more lakes with water to from which scoop to then on fires drop
Or is this the new normal and structures and cities near the forests we stop?
