In war and struggle the vanguard is
the first to reach the beach
The lessons of success to those
following to pass on and quickly teach
In business a vanguard is often the
pioneer who is the beta site
Imitators soon follow to pick up the
pieces and win the black ink fight
The entrepreneur may or may not be a
vanguard named
So hard to teach so hard to the
passion to succeed against all odds inflame
One will never know who might
succeed in the valley of the shadows of Bk
Only a sense that a force field
against the inertia of not taking the risk holds sway
Never doubt this nation or its youth
will not in meeting challenges meet muster
Students, true vanguards pounding
away on computers at a Starbucks rather than Dave and Busters
Never forget that when you board
your ship of dreams
The nay sayers, doubters, and
lawyers are the barnacles that hobble and make you return downstream
