Free Speech On Campus Under Attack

Campus protests have not reached the extent of those of the Vietnam War
But daily across the nation they continue to soar
Ground zero was the icon of journalism Mizzou
Where to some surprise there is an urging of free speech by the ACLU
Under the guise of the race card a free speech Iron Curtain is beginning to descend
If conservative views are espoused the left wants those views to end
The mantra on college campuses now seems to be
We support free speech as long as you agree with me
Even with a motto of Lux et Veritas at Yale
Students were blocking a free speech study with spit on attendees to impale
A mind closed at the age of 18 to discourse of opposing ideas is a mind wasted
Deprived of the succulent fruits of knowledge never to be fully tasted
Unable to process challenges of life or be able to advance without force or muscle a point of view
Mere robots condemned to held back in the closed mind queue
With parents and taxpayers increasingly not wanting to pay the tuition bills
For students leaving college with little employable and reasoning skills
