In a victory for delayed common sense
New Jersey drops prosecution of a
firearm offense
The Second Amendment in the Garden
State when it comes to pistols barely exists
So the law abiding citizens are
stripped of their means to attacks on their safety resist
The felons never believe they will be
caught
But the unarmed New Jersey citizen in
a crime could very well be shot
New Jersey had recently become a
laughing stock
Arresting a retired teacher for
possession of a 255 year old Queen Ann flintlock
A one shot pistol, less a firearm and
more a piece of art
Why the police from common sense had
to depart
The law against pistols does not exempt
collector antiques
So the retired Van Gilder was without
a paddle up the proverbial creek
May be impossible in this Blue
leaning state to this law amend
So another law abiding collector to
jail it does not send
Before this day while New Jersey was
groping in the idiocy fog
This poet was pleased to have been on
the right side of reason with his prior blog
