October 7, 2017 Ridley's Believe It Or Not National LED Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not For October 7, 2017 Just when you thought the hatred and idiocy on the left couldn’t get any worse, a leftist masquerading as a professor at UNLV, Tessa Winkelmann, tops the cake by claiming that Trump is to blame for the mass shooting at the Mandalay because he threatened North Korea (I feel sorry for the students and their parents creating debt to have to be exposed to this pathetic idiot who has no business passing herself off as a professor as opposed to a left wing ideologue); Brown has reverted to his earlier status as Governor Moonbeam by signing the misguided sanctuary state legislation rammed through by the Blues (ICE has rightfully indicated that they will continue to arrest illegal aliens found in this state); amidst mounting criticism, Lisa Bloom has resigned as Harvey Weinstein’s adviser but from the leftist Hollywood elite only the sounds of silence; in yet another all too familiar story another illegal alien without a driver’s license crashed head first into a car killing a father and his two infant children and was slapped on the wrist with a sentence of two years (ironic that the father was a legal immigrant killed by a scumbag who should not have been here in the first place); in another not again moment Hurricane Nate has amped up to a Cat 2 and is barreling toward the Gulf Coast; in Chicago through October 6, 2017, the number of people being shot climbed to 2939 and the death toll rising to 506 while the city seems to not be doing anything to prevent the killing and maiming of its minority residents—a real definition of racism which is deadly.
As always, I hope you enjoy today’s holidays and observances, a music link to Walter Murphy, factoids of interest for this day in history, a relevant quote by the birthday girl Joy Behar on comedy and politics, hoping you have some knitches for cold fall nights  and secure in the knowledge that if you want to find a gift for any memorable events like weddings, or anniversaries, you know that the Alaskanpoet can provide you with a unique customized poem at a great price tailored to the event and the recipient. You need only contact me for details.
1International Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day—promoting awareness of and the need for research for treatments of a really painful disease that affects the trigeminal nerve that connects the face to the brain.
2. National LED Day—promoting the use of energy efficient LED lighting.
3. 1976 Number One Song—the number one song in 1976 on a run of 1 week in that position  was “A Fifth of Beethoven” by Walter Murphy. Here is a performance of the song:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ouMaLRth-s
 4. Word of the Day—today’s word of the day is “knitch” which means a bundle of wood tied together which is a good thing to have if you have a fireplace on a cold fall night.
5.  View Without A Clue—celebrating or bemoaning depending on your point of view the birth of Joy Behar on this day in 1942 of anti-Trumpster “comedienne” Joy Behar whose leftist anti-Trump rants have become stale and unfunny.
On this day in:
a. 1916 in a real rub it in your face game, Georgia Tech defeated Cumberland University 222-0 the most lopsided victory in the history of college football.
b. 1919 KLM the oldest airline still operating under its original name was founded.           c. 1949 the showcase for a failed economic philosophy East Germany came into existence.
d. 1996 Fox News Channel began broadcasting and with its “Fair and Balanced” mantra has become the number one cable news network trouncing the bias of CNN and MSNBC.
e. 2001 air and covert ground operations commenced against terrorists in Afghanistan and sadly are still going on today making the war there the longest in our nation’s history.
Reflections on comedy and politics from the birthday girl: “You know, I'm a comedian the same as Bill Maher and Jon Stewart. We all came up the same way. The three of us have interest in politics; I call us fundits, we're fundits! We're not pundits!” Joy Behar Sadly every time she opens her mouth to pontificate on something she is totally clueless about on the View she is ignoring her own quote and is far removed from being a “fundit.” Please enjoy the poems on events of interest on my twitter account below (if you like them, retweet and follow me) and follow my blogs.
