VW Defeat Devices Pose Great Liability

Das Auto may be in a world of financial hurt

The need for profits running berserk

Diesels leave a huge carbon footprint in the air

Causing air quality regulators much despair

VW with typical German engineering touted that its diesels ran clean

Now we learn that each auto may be a rolling crime scene

11 million diesel cars sold worldwide have stealth software

To the amount of pollution actually produced the accuracy of the results impair

Have the emission amounts actually subject to an emission test

The car passes and when back on the road the emissions the car no longer arrests

500,000 cars sold in the U.S. sold with this device which could mean up to 18 billion in fines

Not to mention assuming jurisdiction for VW executives potential jail time

Unlike GM trying to save a few cents

VW’s action would enable sales and the emission rules bent

Once caught, money is being reserved for fines and costs of recall

Probably more needed as sales should completely stall

Pity the buyer who has paid for the car a pretty hefty price

Only to see the resale value fall to next to nothing due to the defeat device

Hard to believe but this scandal could become worse

News that German lawmakers may have known of this deception curse

Americans love their cars and this scandal will not them please

May be a long time before Americans will be shopping for another set of VW keys
