To fight the wave of crime that’s ravaging this nation
Like the British in their wars in Africa you need 4 sides of
a square for salvation
Adequate police, D.A.’s committed to prosecute, judges
committed to sentence and citizens willing to reveal criminal behavior they
witness
If any side of the square is lacking or collapses, the
residents of an urban Blue run city are in of a lot of harmful or deadly
distress
In an Auburn park a retired professor was taking her dog for
a walk
Not aware by a vicious thug she was being stalked
Who died after by a blunt object being viciously socked
The arrested suspect Harold Rashad Dabney III had a prior
arrest but his treatment by the judicial system was mocked
Homeless and sleeping in his car, the police found a sawed
off shotgun with the serial numbers filed off
A sure sign of criminal intent and he needed to go before
D.A.’s and a judge whose views on crime were not soft
Instead of prosecuting for a dangerous felony the D.A.’s dismissed
the felony
And Dabney to the misdemeanors entered a plea of guilty
The judge sentenced him to 12 months of unsupervised probation,
a pat on the wrist|
And released him back on the streets where his criminal activities he could not
resist
Had he been prosecuted and convicted he should have spent in
prison at least 2 years
And news of the retired professor’s death while walking her
dog would not have appeared
D.A.’s overwhelmed by the number of cases too often are driven to plea down
Which means we need more of them so felons are not released
back on the streets of crime ridden towns
