Janaury 14, 2021 Ridley's Beleive It Or Not Ratification Day

Ridley’s Believe It Or Not January 14, 2021

CV World Cases: The CV pandemic across the planet continues the new year with  surging cases over 92 million at 93,533,715 with 758.137 new cases (a .82% increase and .80% yesterday)  24,717,373 of  which  are active, 68,816,342 closed with 66,813,935 recoveries (97.09% and 97.09% yesterday) and 2,002,407, deaths (2.91% and 2.91% yesterday) to continue the trend of increased cases with increased recovery  percentages and decreased death percentages with some plateaus.

CV USA Cases: Total cases now over 23 million at 23,848,410 with 232,065 new cases (a .98% increase and 2.81% yesterday)  with 9,338,297 active cases of which 29,232 (.31% of active cases and a decrease of 36 from a peak of 29,271 on December 31) are in serious or critical condition 14,510,113 closures,  397,994 of which have been deaths (2.74% and 2.74% yesterday) and 14,112,119 of which have been recoveries (97.26% and 97.26% yesterday). Our death rate percentage continues to improve and after many months is now .17% lower than the world rate and .13% lower than Canada which has the socialized type medicine Biden may well want to implement here  and on a deaths per million population measurement on a steady climb to 1199 ranks behind Belgium (1743, Italy (1338),  UK (1263) which had passed us despite leading world in testing), and Bulgaria (1212), and only slightly worse than Peru (1161), (1135), Hungary (1147), Spain (1125), France (1061),  Mexico (1064),  Sweden (1005) that never closed its economy down like we did but has recently been experiencing a rapid rise in deaths including a 35/M increase today, Argentina (994), Switzerland (988), Brazil (971), Chile (901) that we recently passed, Bolivia (810) and  Ecuador (801) and we have now conducted 2,024,801 more tests to bring the total to 279,472,826 (now at 841,658/M compared to Russia at 650,826/M so Trump was telling truth that we conduct more tests in number and on a per capital basis for nations (other than those nations that contain small populations like Bahrain, Denmark,  Israel, Malta, Singapore and UAE) but for the U.K. which remains off the testing charts with tests at 907,475/M.

Non CV Case News: A chilling leaked video speaking to Twitter staff that the banning of Trump  is just the beginning of a concerted effort to squelch conservative thought and speech (look for a Twitter curtain more effective and deadly to our democratic principles descending on this nation to destroy the ability of conservative ideas to be shared or promoted; buoyed by the snap impeachment of Trump, some Blues are calling for the purge from the House of any members who questioned the results (so far as we move closer to being a Banana Republic, not one Blue has demanded a firing squad only expulsion and censure; Don Lemon is perfectly named with his rants that all supporters of Trump are Nazis and Klansmen—like a car that breaks down as soon as it leaves the lot and does not work (any advertiser who advertises on his show if they do not want to alienate near half of the people should pull their ads); Biden revealed the outlines of his stimulus plan which will result in a $1.9 trillion addition to the nation debt and true to form AOC was ranting that it was not enough and it should be added to the $600 recently passed (problem Biden faces is that his higher taxes on corporations and his reissuance of the onerous regulations Trump removed will mean larger and larger stimulus checks as more and more businesses tank); the onion on the Russian Collusion Hoax may be peeled even more as more classified documents are being declassified and released this Friday; not sure what Pelosi is lacing her gourmet ice cream with but it must be mind altering as she has renamed the Fang Man Eric Swalwell to the House Homeland Security Committee; Newsom’s vaccine rollout continues to be a disaster with California an epicenter of new cases and deaths but fortunately the recall petition for Gruesome Newsom has now surpassed 1,000,000 signatures and only needs 500,000 more to put the recall Newsom petition on the ballot: https://recallgavin2020.com/petition/

Chicago/Baltimore Gun Violence: In the new-year gun violence is unchecked primarily with shooters of color shooting and killing victims of color but it looks like my data site Hey Jackass.com has now been blocked from giving out daily data.

On this day in:

  a. 1858 Emperor Napoleon III and his Empress were attacked by Felice Orsini and his accomplices in a failed assassination attempt with 3 bombs. Orsini who advocated Italian independence was caught the next day, tried and sent to the guillotine on March 13, 1858. Orsini’s accomplices Pieri was executed, Gomez sentenced to life of hard labor, and DeRudio was sentenced to death which was commuted to life imprisonment of hard labor on Devil’s Island where he escaped and fled to America to serve in the Union Army and was fortunate enough to survive the Battle of Little Big Horn where Custer’s forces were slaughtered to a man.

          b. 1943 in a “live to fight another day” moment, Japan launched Operation Ke to successfully evacuate its troops on Guadalcanal literally under the noses of the American forces on the island.

          c. 1952 NBC’s morning show Today debuted with host David Carroway and is still going strong today.

d. 1976 a Human Be-in was held in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, launching what became to be known as the “Summer of Love” (with the homeless, used needles and feces and urine doubt that that event could be replicated today there).

         e. 1973 Elvis Presley’s concert Aloha from Hawaii was broadcast live by satellite from Hawaii to be watched by the highest number of viewers to ever watch a performance by a single musician.

.        Reflections on the Summer of Love: "It was sex, drugs and rock and roll, and those were all fun. But at the core of the counterculture was a spiritual revolution, in a sense of leaving the western religions of control, and exploring the eastern disciplines of liberation. There was meditation. There were workshops in advanced breathing. The counterculture represented a certain economic threat, because here were several people sharing a car, or not getting insurance, but taking care of each other, making their own clothes, using less electricity, making candles.  The Justice Department was trying to infiltrate communes. I spoke to a friend of an ex FBI guy who said they had the FBI hippie squad. And they had to learn how to roll joints, the better to infiltrate with." Paul Krassner, author, prankster and cofounder of the Yippies and a member of Kesey’s Magic Pranksters whose Summer of Love turned to Winter on July 21, 2019 at age 97.
