Justice for Floyd and Burned Out, Looted Neighborhoods

No one white or black should ever be cuffed
Then slowly strangled even as he pleaded “enough”
Worse the four acted under the color law
No wonder communities as one marched to protest a final straw
The protest message that initially was so crystal clear
Became so clouded when businesses burst into flames like funeral biers
Floyd was no saint but did not deserve to die
Right that the four for his death will be tried
After seeing Minneapolis burn and be looted non stop
In the interests of justice a change of venue for the 4 cops
Pity the poor citizens who end up sitting on that jury
Know that an acquittal will unleash a maelstrom of unchecked rioting fury
One can only hope the 4 are able to cop a plea
With enough years before they are again once free
It’s good to express outrage over his death
But also for the cops who expelled their last breath
A murdered life trumps a burned out store
Pity for the victims who must endure years before the damage has been restored
