are so very aware of the opioid crisis that is sweeping our towns
Too
many of our youth are in OD’s going down
What
we did not know is that K-9 drug sniffing dogs are also at risk of an overdose
Inhaling
drugs while sniffing them out then dying is really gross
Most
dog handlers do not know the overdose signs
May
not reach for the Naloxone in time
Only
4 states allow an ambulance to transfer a working dog for care
Only
2 allow EMS personnel to attempt them to from an OD death try to spare
K-9s
should be treated like humans when exposed to deadly opioids
All
must be done to their untimely death in the line of duty avoid
Just
another reason to secure the border and build a wall
A
death of a K-9 should all of us really appall
