Part the Belnont Here Comes American Pharaoh On a Belmont Dream

It’s a horse that should shake fellow thoroughbreds to their very marrow
He wins again to keep the Triple Crown hopes alive, this new equine phenom, American Pharaoh
Not since 1978 when Affirmed won the Triple Crown
Have we had a horse that in the racing world is the favored  talk of the town
Three races away from the home stable in five weeks
For a horse not for the faint of heart or the meek
American Pharaoh at the Preakness on a wet day and muddy track
“Eat my mud” and never once had to look back
On to the Belmont hoping not to follow in the misquided hype of California Chrome
Losing and having to take the long, sad road home
This may be the Sport of Kings and the ruin of common betting men
But like all things in life hope of a winning ticket always rises again
We need a winner and the stable is licking their chops over a Triple Crown win
The stud fees will be so high mating with mares of Triple Crown wannabes will be almost a sin
We all love a winner especially when it has taken to crown another so long
So American Pharaoh we hope waiting for another Triple Crown, a Belmont upset you do not prolong © May 16 , 2015 Michael P. Ridley aka the Alaskanpoet
