NEW YEAR’S DAY 2026

Old Man 2025 was slowly on his walker moving across the stage
The Babe 2026 was crawling as he entered to face the partisan rages|
Seeing the growing number of fingers of blame|
He was tempted to turn around and forfeit his 2026 reign
But the Babe knew time must march on
And that it was too early to rest in Forest Lawn
So he crawled forward with newfound resolve
To bridge the divide by ending partisan stands with compromise to problems solve
No longer could Blues shut down the government ignoring peoples’ need to try to get their way
And compromise killing disease of TDS Stage 4 they must learn to slay
And Trump’s over the top demeaning  rhetoric must come to an end
Both sides should add to Lincoln’s warning that “a house divided against itself cannot stand”
With “or achieve the prosperity and economic growth needed to solve many of the issues facing this land”
It will be a difficult undertaking but compared to overcoming the Great Depression, winning WWII or putting and returning men from the Moon, a piece of cake
A path our elected officials if they want to remain in office must without hesitation take
