Day 1 Flu Day 2 + Pneumonia and Death

Just when the human species might be feeling on the cocky side
A feeling when young that we’re immortal death to be defied
Troubling news out of Phoenix of a 20 year mother of two
In good health but on this Sunday diagnosed with the flu
Trip to outpatient care for some flu meds
Then back home to rest and bed
Monday feeling like she was ready to die
Off to ER to the flu and now pneumonia defy
Onto a ventilator and a healthy doses of meds
To no avail and now she is dead
A six month old and two year old left in her wake
Never forget that life is precious too easy for microbes take
We may be at the top of the food chain with all manner of medical tricks
To contain and then destroy these pesky bacteria and viruses when we are sick
But in this case these microbes without a brain quickly mutated as they split
Much faster that the  FDA plodding along can new drugs into the marketplace admit
